CNC Machining Projects

I’m passionate about machining and skilled in programming and operating CNC mills, lathes, and routers. From generating CAM and G-code files from CAD models to manual and CNC machining, I’ve worked with metals, wood, and plastics. Explore my CNC projects below.

Machines and software I have used:

CAD/CAM packages: Solidworks with MasterCAM, Fusion360, Vectric

CNC Machines: Hass Mini mill, Hass TL-1 CNC Lathe, Genmitsu CNC router, Forest Scientific CNC Router, various manual lathes and mills

CNC Machined Chess board

CAD/CAM: Solid works, MasterCAM

Machines: Hass Minimill, manual mill, bandsaws, polishing wheels

Draft Analysis

FIDGET Spinner

My friend Jonathan and I made around 30 pairs and gave them to our friends.

1 year later I fabricated a pair out of walnut wood, using a CNC router. This time the CAM was made on Fusion360.

Finished Frames

Draft Analysis was done on Solidworks. A draft of 1.5 degrees was added for easy ejection of parts from the mold

Draft Analysis

CAD/CAM: Solid works, MasterCAM

Machines: Hass Minimill, manual mill, power tools, morgan press

Project type: Class project, team of two.

Toolpath for machining the mold halves on the Hass mini mill was developed using MasterCAM. The operation on each half of the mold, including two tool changes was done in approximately in 45 mins.

Plastic Flow Simulation

Machined Mold Halves

Party Frames: Injection Molded frames and CNC machined molds

Steps:

  1. Design CAD of the part favorable for injection molding

  2. Design and machine the mold favorable for machining.

  3. Injection mold the parts.

These were done on my Desktop CNC router.

I made the toolpaths on Fusion360 and used OpenBuildsCONTROLS to run the CAM.
